Habitat and Description: Common in occasionally mown herbaceous vegetation on shallow gravelly loam over caliche on very gentle slope just below coastal prairie surface underlain by Beaumont Formation. Associates include Acleisanthes obtusa, Ambrosia cheiranthifolia, Aphanostephus ramosissimus, Bouteloua rigidiseta, Cenchrus spinifex, Dalea multiflora, D. nana, pogonathera, Desmanthus virgatus, Dichondra caroliniana, Ditaxis humilis, Dyssodia tenuiloba, Elytraria bromoides, Evolvulus sericeus, Galactia heterophylla, Indigofera miniata, Krameria lanceolata, Linum rigidum, Menodora heterophylla, Phyllanthus polygonoides, Pinaropappus roseus, Richardia tricocca, Sida abutifolia.
