Habitat and Description: Local in live oak savanna on shallow stony clay or clay loam on high point of undulating landscape underlain by Ordovician limestone of the Gorman Formation. Associates include Abutilon incanum, Aphanostephus riddellii, Aristida purpurea, Asclepias asperula, Astragalus nuttallianus, Berberis trifoliolata, Bouteloua hirsuta, B. rigidiseta, Callirhoe involucrata, Carex plano-stachys, Chaetopappa asteroides, Eragrostis intermedia, Erioneuron pilosum, Evolvulus sericeus, Evolvulus sericeus, Eysenhardtia texana, Galium texense, Gaura brachycarpa, Gilia rigidula, Krameria lanceolata, Lesquerella recurvata, Linum hudsonioides, Matelea biflora, M. reticulata, Nemastylis geminiflora, Oenothera triloba, Phyllanthus polygonoides, Prosopis glandulosa, Quercus fusiformis, Tetraneuris scaposa, Verbena canescens, Wedelia hispida, Yucca rupicola.
