Habitat and Description: Occasional in shortgrass openings within shrublands on caliche-sandy clay slope just below level prairie surface of Beaumont Formation. Associates include Bouteloua rigidiseta, Desmanthus reticulatus, Dyschoriste linearis, Dyssodia pentachaeta, Evolvulus sericeus, Gaillardia suavis, Hedyotis nigricans, Krameria lanceolata, Liatris mucronata, Parthenium confertum, Pinaropappus roseus, and Wedelia hispida.
