Habitat and Description: Common along margin of tall-stature shrubland on very gravelly sandy loam (Goldfinch Series) in minor valley between slopes supporting medium-stature shrublands. Associates include Acacia minuata, A. rigidula, Celtis pallida, Colubrina texensis, Conoclinium incarnatum, Dichanthium annulatum, Diospyros texana, Lantana urticoides, Lycium berlandieri, Prosopis glandulosa, Verbesina microptera, Yucca treculeana.
