Habitat and Description: Red beds with red sandy soils, with gypsum outcrops; slopes with juniper, mesquite, Rhus microphylla, Berberis trif., Zizyphus, Celtis retic., and abundant grasses (especially Aristida), with gypsum slopes more open. Abundant rounded subshrub to 0.8 m tall; fl yellow; on and off gypsum.
