Habitat and Description: N-facing slopes of breaks on S side of canyon; gentle to steep slopes, red soils with gypsum in parts, with Juniperus pinchotii, Forestiera pubescens, Rhus aromatica, R. microphylla, Platyopuntia, Dalea, Berberis trifoliolata, Yucca, Ephedra antisyphilitica, etc. On steeper slopes of breaks, in fr only.
