Habitat and Description: Occasional in openings among live oak mottes and mesquite woodlands on gravelly alluvium on old terraces or valley flats. Associates include Acacia greggii, Berberis trifoliolata, Bothriochloa laguroides, Bouteloua eriopoda, Clematis drummondii, Juniperus sp., Larrea tridentata, Menodora longiflora, Mimosa sp., Muhlenbergia porteri, Parthenium incanum, Prosopis glandulosa, Purshia ericifolia, Quercus fusiformis, Tridens muticus.
