Habitat and Description: Cespitose perennial; panicle contracted; frequent in open woodland on shallow stony soils underlain by Segovia Member of the Edwards Limestone, on top of rimrock at top of minor N-draining tributary of North Canyon. Associates include Abutilon incanum, Bernardia myricifolia, Forestiera reticulata, Juniperus pinchotii, Quercus pungens var. vaseyana, Salvia texana, Schizachyrium scoparium.
