Habitat and Description: Frequent in open shrubland on shallow stony soils on +/- level ridgetop underlain by Segovia Member of the Edwards Limestone. Associates include Acacia roemeriana, Aristida spp., Boerhavia linearifolia, Croton lindheimerianus, Echinocactus horizonthalonius, Hilaria mutica, Juniperus ashei, J. pinchotii, Mimosa sp., Opuntia sp., Panicum hallii, Paronychia jamesii, Prosopis glandulosa.
