Habitat and Description: Rare in medium to tall stature shrubland on soils mapped as deep, moderately well drained, neutral Lyford sandy clay loam of the Lyford Series (Aquic Haplustalfs). Associates include Acleisanthes obtusa, Adelia vaseyi, Amyris madrensis, Anredera sp., Castela erecta, Digitaria californica, Forestiera angustifolia, Panicum hallii, Parkinsonia aculeata, Phaulothamnus spinescens, Pithecellobium ebano, Prosopis glandulosa, Salvia coccinea, Schaefferia cuneifolia, Setaria leucopila, Sideroxylon celastrinum, Xylothamia palmeri, and Zanthoxylum fagara.
