Habitat and Description: Culms almost 3 ft. tall, with reddish brown bases. Rare, local in area, confined to clayey soil of natural depressions on coastal prairie surface, in this case a tiny pothole heavily utilized by nilgai. Associates include Cyperus virens, Heliotropium indicum, and Paspalidium geminatum.
