Habitat and Description: Annual; stems +/- ascending; locally common in opening in mesquite-juniper shrubland on gravelly sandy clay on low bluff of Permian redbeds just above floodplain. Associates include Aristida sp., Artemisia ludoviciana, Bouteloua hirsuta, Cenchrus spinifex, Conyza canadensis, Dalea formosa, Digitaria cognata, Ephedra antisyphilitica, Heterotheca subaxillaris, Juniperus pinchotii, Liatris punctata, Opuntia leptocaulis, O. (Platyopuntia) sp., Prosopis glandulosa and Schizachyrium scoparium.
