Habitat and Description: Locally common in shade of ramadero woodland on deep, somewhat poorly drained, calcareous, moderately alkaline fine sandy loam Typic Argiaquolls (Rio Series) on +/- level upland underlain by caliche or calcareous sandstone of the Goliad Formation. Ramadero woodland (tall thorn shrubland) composed of Prosopis glandulosa, Zanthoxylum fagara, Celtis pallida, Phaulothamnus spinescens. Herbaceous associates include Anredera sp., Calyptocarpus vialis, Helenium microcephalum, Teucrium cubense and Trichloris pluriflora.
