Habitat and Description: Common in little bluestem- hairy grama grassland on deep, well drained, friable, neutral fine sandy loam Udic Paleustalfs (Miles Series) on gentle slope underlain by Pleistocene eolian and fluvial deposits of the Lingos Formation. Associates include Aristida purpurea, Artemisia filifolia, Bouteloua hirsuta, Cenchrus spinifex, Conyza canadensis, Dalea enneabdra, Eriogonum multiflorum, Heterotheca sp., Juniperus pinchotii, Liatris punctata, Prunus angustifolia, Prosopis glandulosa and Schizachyrium scoparium and Yucca glauca.
