Habitat and Description: Occasional in tallgrass grassland on deep, excessively drained, neutral fine sand Typic Ustipsamments (Tivoli Series) on rolling dune-like landscape. Associates include Andropogon hallii, Artemisia filifolia, Bouteloua gracilis, Calamovilfa gigantea, Chamaecrista fasciculata, Croton sp., Digitaria cognata, Eriogonum multiflorum, Gutierrezia sp., Liatris sp., Heterotheca subaxillaris, Mentzelia nuda, Paronychia jamesii, Rhus aromatica, Sorghastrum nutans, Sporobolus cryptandrus, S. giganteus.
