Locality: United States, Texas, Starr, Just W of cabin near S fenceline on Las Estrellas Preserve, 0.6 mi. W of R. M. 3167 from a point ca. 7.3 roadmiles N of jct. U.S. Rt. 83 (at west edge of Rio Grande City). Rio Grande North Quadrangle. Elev. 270 ft.

Habitat and Description: Common in sparse herbaceous vegetation on saline clay (Catarina Series) in broad shallow open drainageway probably clearly of brush in the not-too-distant past, between gravelly slopes underlain by Catahoula and Frio formations. Associates include Billieturnera helleri, Guitierrezia sp., Physalis lobata, Prosopis reptans, Quincula lobata, Salsola tragus, Tridens albescens.
