Habitat and Description:
Culms several from base, > 8 feet tall; rare, one clump noticed, on narrow, partially shaded bench of loamy alluvium about halfway down slope of entrenched perennial stream. Of natural occurrence here; cultivation (if any) in immediate neighborhood unknown. Associates include Amorpha fruticosa, Andropogon hallii, Artemisia ludoviciana, Bouteloua curtipendula, Elymus canadensis, Helianthus maximiliani, Sapindus saponaria, Sorghastrum nutans, Ulmus americana, Vitis acerifolia.
