Habitat and Description: Low shrub; occasional in grassland or open mesquite shrubland on deep loose hummocky fine sand (Sarita Series, Grossarenic Paleustalfs) on +/- gently undulating upland mantled with eolian sand of the South Texas Holocene Sand Sheet. Associates include Acalypha radians, Aristida sp., Cenchrus spinifex, Commelina erecta, Condalia hookeri, Croton capitatus, C. glandulosus, C. parksii, Dichanthelium sp. (26951), Diodia teres, Eragrostis secundiflora, E. sessilispica, Eriogonum multiflorum, Galactia canescens, Helianthus praecox ssp. runyonii, Heliotropium racemosum, Hypericum pauciflorum, Lantana urticoides, Opuntia leptocaulis, Palafoxia texana, Paspalum sp. (26952), Phyllanthus abnormis, Prosopis glandulosus, Rhynchelytrum repens, Setaria ramiseta, Verbesina encelioides.
