Habitat and Description: Locally common in deep loose sparingly vegetated sand on unshaded highway right-of-way through landscape of post oak woodlands and bermudagrass pastures on dune-like hills underlain by Carrizo Sand. Associates include Arabis petiolaris, Aristida sp., Carya texana, Cenchrus spinifex, Cnidoscolus texanus, Colubrina texensis, Croptilon sp., Eriogonum multiflorum, Euphorbia cordifolia, Froelichia sp., Gaillardia amblyodon, Helianthus debilis, Lechea mucronata, Mirabilis albida, Monarda viridissima, Nama hispidum, Oenothera laciniata, Phlox drummondii, Plantago hookeriana, Polanisia erosa, Polygonella americana, Polypremum procumbens, Sida lindheimeri, Stylisma pickeringii, Triplasis purpurea, Yucca (louisianensis?), Vitis mustangensis. Zornia bracteata.
