Habitat and Description: Common in moist sandy and gravel on partially shaded in bed of intermittent stream at base of slopes of Pennsylvanian sandstone and mudstone. Associates include Amorpha fruticosa, Carex emoryi, Cephalanthus occidentalis, Chasmanthium latifolium, Cyperus sp. (26870), Desmanthus illinoensis, Dichanthelium lindheimeri, Eupatorium serotinum, Justicia americana, Panicum virgatum, Paspalum distichum, Rumex crispus, Samolus valerandi, Sorghum halepense.
