Locality: United States, Texas, Pecos, W side of main N-S road on W side of Diamond Y Spring Preserve, ca. 0.1-0.2 mi N of its crossing of Leon Creek, 0.8-0.9 airmiles N of Diamond Y Spring (the spring), ca. 3.3-3.4 airmiles SW of St. Rt. 18 culvert on Diamond Y. Draw, ca. 7-8 airmiles N of Fort Stockton. Diamond Y Spring Quadrangle. Elev. 2800 - 2940 ft.

Habitat and Description: Common in open low shrubland on gentle colluvial slope and on low flat ridge of Lower Cretaceous limestone of the Washita Group. Associates include Berberis trifoliolata, Dalea formosa, Echinocactus horizonthalonius, Echinocereus pectinatus, Fouquieria splendens, Larrea tridentata, Opuntia sp., Yucca torreyi, Zinnia acerosa, stunted Prosopis glandulosa.
