Habitat and Description: Occasional in mixed (mostly deciduous) forest on loamy fine sand along minor ranch road across upper slope of gently rolling topography underlain by Sparta Sand. Associates include Callicarpa americana, Carex cherokeensis, C. cf. caroliniana, Ilex vomitoria, Liquidambar styraciflua, Nyssa sylvatica, Ostrya virginiana, Pinus sp., Piptochaetium avenaceum, Quercus stellata, Scleria sp., Smilax bona-nox, Ulmus alata, Vaccinium arboreum.
