Habitat and Description: Locally abundant in pricklypear-dominated openings in very weedy woodland on nearly level upland underlain by Pleistocene high gravel deposits. Associates include Ferocactus setispinus, Froelichia gracilis, Ligustrum japonicum, Lonicera japonica, Opuntia engelmannii var. lindheimeri, Ulmus crassifolia.
