Habitat and Description: Frequent in partial shade along edge of deciduous forest on deep, well drained, medium acid loamy fine sand Ultisols on upper slope underlain by Sparta Sand. Associates include numerous Cnidoscolus texanus, Hymenopappus artemisiifolius, Krigia occidentalis, Luzula echinata, Polypremum procumbens, Rumex hastatulus, Salvia lyrata. Sisyrinchium sp., Tradescantia sp.
