Habitat and Description: Locally common in herbaceous vegetation on deep, somewhat excessively drained, noncalcareous fine sand (Eufaula and Patilo series) on seldom mown highway r-o-w through landscape of post oak savanna and improved pastures on gently undulating upland underlain by Carrizo Sand. Associates include Acalypha radians, Allium elmendorfii, Aphanostephus skirrhobasis, Chloris cucullata, Cnidoscolus texanus, Croton argyranthemus, Descurainia pinnata, Eragrostis superba, Gaillardia amblyodon, Gaura villosa ssp. parksii, Helianthus debilis, Houstonia sp. (26675), Hymenopappus artemisiifolius, Lechea villosa, Mimosa uncinata, Monarda punctata, Penstemon murrayanus, Phlox drummondii, Plantago wrightiana, Rhynchosia americana, Senecio ampullaceus, Spermolepis echinata, Stylisma pickeringii, Tephrosia lindheimeri, Zanthoxylum hirsutum.
