Habitat and Description: Frequent in deciduous forest on deep, well drained, medium acid loamy fine sand Ultisols along minor drainageway on upper slope underlain by Sparta Sand. Associates include numerous Arnoglossum plantagineum, Asplenium platyneuron, Callicarpa americana, Carex spp., Chasmanthium sessiliflorum, Claytonia virginica, Desmodium sp., Dichanthelium sp., Fraxinus americana, Galium circaezans, G. tinctorium, Ilex vomitoria, Quercus falcata, Q. nigra, Sanicula canadensis, Smilax bona-nox, Ulmus alata, Vaccinium arboreum, Viola sp.
