Habitat and Description: Occasional in openings in post oak - Ashe juniper woodlands on deep, well drained, slightly acid sandy clay loam on gentle slopes underlain by Twin Mountains Formation. Associates include Bothriochloa ischaemum, Chloris cucullata, Eragrostis sessilispica, Heterotheca canescens, Indigofera miniata, Juncus marginatus, Juniperus ashei, Lechea san-sabeana, Nassella leucotricha, Neptunia lutea, Polygala verticillata, Quercus stellata, Sabatia campestris.
