Habitat and Description: Frequent in opening in live oak - Ashe juniper woodland on shallow stony soil atop limestone outcrop. Associates include Allium drummondii, Aristida purpurea, Asclepias asperula, Bouteloua rigidiseta, Carex planostachys, Dalea aurea, Desmanthus velutinus, Echinocereus reichenbachii, Eriogonum longifolium, Erioneuron pilosum, Fraxinus texensis, Heterotheca canescens, Hymenopappus scabiosaeus, Juniperus ashei, Krameria lanceolata, Lygodesmia texana, Nassella leucotricha, Phyllanthus polygonoides, Quercus fusiformis, Tetraneuris linearifolia, T. scaposa, Thelesperma filifolium.
