Habitat and Description: Rare in rather sparse herbaceous vegetation in opening in live oak - Ashe juniper woodland on shallow stony clay loam on level hilltop underlain by Glen Rose Limestone. Associates include Aristida purpurea, Calylophus serrulatus, Chamaesyce fendleri, Dalea aurea, Erioneuron pilosum, Evax prolifera, Gutierrezia texana, Juniperus ashei, Scutellaria wrightii, Senna roemeriana, Yucca pallida.
