Habitat and Description: Locally common in grassland or open mesquite shrubland on deep loose hummocky fine sand (Sarita Series, Grossarenic Paleustalfs) on nearly level upland mantled with eolian sand of the South Texas Holocene Sand Sheet. Associates include Acalypha radians, Cenchrus spinifex, Chamaecrista spp. (26965, 26959), Commelina erecta, Croton capitatus, glandulosus, C. parksii, Cyperus sp. (26962), Digitaria texana, Galactia texana, Helianthus praecox ssp. runyonii, Indigofera miniata, Matelea parviflora, Monarda fruticulosa, Oxalis berlandieri, Palafoxia texana, Paspalum sp. (26960), Phyllanthus abnormis, Physalis sp. (26963), Ratibida peduncularis, Rhynchelytrum repens, Schizachyrium scoparium, Scutellaria sp., Setaria ramiseta, Sida lindheimeri, Urochloa ciliatissima, U. texana.
