Habitat and Description: Common in mixed vegetation on steep rocky lower slope of shallow canyon with exposures of Cretaceous limestone (Kiamichi or Duck Creek formation). Associates include Ambrosia psilostachya, Aster ericoides, Grindelia sp., Panicum capillare, Rhus lanceolata, Salvia azurea, Schizachyrium scoparium, Stenosiphon linifolius.
