Habitat and Description: Locally common in mixed herbaceous vegetation with emergent hackberry, mesquite, and retama all tied together with thickety vines, on clayey alluvium on occasionally inundated floodplain. Associates include Acacia minuata, Baccharis neglecta, Borrichia frutescens, Carex tetrastachya, Celtis laevigata, Chloracantha spinosa, Cirsium texanum, Cissus incisa, Clematis pitcheri, Cocculus diversifolius, Cynodon dactylon, Galium aparine, Gaura parviflora, Helenium microcephalum, Lycium carolinianum, Malvastrum coromandelianum, Parkinsonia aculeata, Parthenium hysterophorus, Phyla nodiflora, Prosopis glandulosa, Rumex spiralis, Sarcostemma cynanchoides, Solanum triquetrum, Spartina spartinae, Teucrium canadense, Urtica chamaedryoides.
