Habitat and Description: Common in grassland in grazed pasture on shallow stony clay soils on ridgetop on gently rolling prairie landscape underlain by Cretaceous limestone (Duck Creek or Kiamichi formation). Associates include Ambrosia psilostachya, Artemisia ludoviciana, Eriogonum longifolium, Liatris mucronata, Schizachyrium scoparium.
