Habitat and Description: Ray flowers yellow; disk flowers yellow; rare in clay exposed on receding bed of small stock tank in shallow drainageway on gently rolling prairie landscape underlain by Cretaceous limestone (Kiamichi or Duck Creek formation). Associates include Aster subulatus, Bergia texana, Chamaesyce serpens, Echinochloa sp., Leucospora multifida, Phyla nodiflora, Tridens albescens, Xanthium strumarium.
