Habitat and Description: Frequent in cenizo-guajillo shrubland on shallow stony soils on level to gently sloping upland underlain by Edwards Limestone. Associates include Acacia berlandieri, Bouteloua curtipendula, B. trifida, Bothriochloa ischaemum, Cenchrus spinifex, Dyssodia micropoides, Eragrostis lehmanniana, E. intermedia, Heteropogon contortus, Leucophyllum frutescens, Panicum hallii, Pappophorum bicolor, Salvia ballotiflora, Sporobolus cryptandrus, Tridens muticus.
