Locality: United States, Texas, McMullen, Northwestern part of U. S. Navy's Escondido Ranch, 2.4 airmiles N to NNW of ranch HQ, ca. 5.5-5.6 airmiles NE of SW corner of county. Piedra Creek SE Quadrangle. Elev. 240 - 250 ft.

Habitat and Description: Locally abundant, ca. 10,000 individuals observed on heavy clay soil of roadbed, open disked field and young huisache-retama woodland on broad floodplain of Nueces River. Associates include Astragalus brazoensis, Lesquerella lindheimeri, Geranium texanum, Chloracantha spinosa, Spartina spartinae, Marsilea sp., Acacia minuata, Parkinsonia aculeata, Chamaesyce serpens, Sibara virginica, Glandularia bipinnatifida, Quincula lobata, Oenothera speciosa, Ammoselinum butleri, Lepidium sp. Zero (0) Selenia plants observed in same area during drought spring of 2006.
