Habitat and Description: Common in medium-stature shrubland on shallow stony soils on level to gently sloping upland underlain by Edwards Limestone. Associates include Acacia berlandieri, A. rigidula, Aloysia gratissima, Aristida purpurea, Bouteloua curtipendula, B. trifida, Calliandra conferta, Cynanchum maccartii, Dalea pogonathera, Gutierrezia microcephala, Heliotropium torreyi, Lantana urticoides, Leucophyllum frutescens, Mimosa aculeaticarpa, Opuntia lindheimeri, Panicum hallii, Pappophorum bicolor, Prosopis glandulosa, Salvia ballotiflora, Simsia calva, Tetraclea coulteri, Thymophylla pentachaeta, Tridens muticus.
