Habitat and Description: Frequent in cenizo-guajillo medium-stature shrubland on shallow stony soils on moderate to gentle slopes underlain by Edwards Limestone. Associates include Acacia berlandieri, A. rigidula, Aloysia gratissima, Aristida purpurea, Bouteloua curtipendula, B. hirsuta, B. trifida, Calliandra conferta, Croton pottsii, Cynanchum maccartii, Dalea pogonathera, Dasylirion texanum, Diospyros texana, Fouquieria splendens, Heliotropium torreyi, Jatropha dioica, Lantana urticoides, Leucophyllum frutescens, Melampodium sp., Mimosa aculeaticarpa, Opuntia lindheimeri, Panicum hallii, Pappophorum bicolor, Prosopis glandulosa, Salvia ballotiflora, Simsia calva, Sophora secundiflora, Tetraclea coulteri, Thymophylla pentachaeta, Tridens muticus, Yucca reverchonii.
