Habitat and Description: Locally common, dominating small area of tight light-colored fine sand or clay, in very minor depressional area on flat landscape on South Texas Holocene Sand Sheet. Associates include Alophia drummondii (believe it or not), Atriplex matamorensis, Borrichia frutescens, Flaveria brownei, Iva texensis, Machaeranthera phyllocephala, Maytenus phyllanthoides, Monanthochloe littoralis, Opuntia lindheimeri, Polypremum procumbens, Prosopis reptans and stunted P. glandulosa, Pterocaulon virgatum, Ruellia sp., Sida ciliaris, Spartina spartinae, Sporobolus pyramidatus.
