Habitat and Description: Plants mostly in fruit; occasional in grazed midgrass grassland dotted with small mesquite, on shallow well drained stony clay loam underlain by Cretaceous limestone on slightly convex upland. Associates include Ambrosia psilostachya, Artemisia ludoviciana, Bifora americana, Bothriochloa laguroides, Bromus japonicus, Callirhoe pedata, Calylophus berlandieri, Castilleja purpurea, Centaurea americana, Cirsium texanum, C. undulatum, Dalea aurea, Daucus pusillus, Ditaxis mercurialina, Dyschoriste linearis, Engelmannia pinnatifida, Eriogonum longifolium, Erioneuron pilosum, Gaillardia pulchella, Glandularia bipinnatifida, Heterotheca canescens, Houstonia nigricans, Krameria lanceolata, Liatris sp., Limnodea arkansana, Lindheimera texana, Linum berlandieri, Lygodesmia texana, Matelea biflora, Mimosa roemeriana, Monarda citriodora, Nassella leucotricha, Penstemon cobaea, Psoralidium tenuiflorum, Salvia texana, Scutellaria drummondii, Senna roemeriana, Stillingia texana, Thelesperma filifolium.
