Habitat and Description: Frequent in grazed grassland on shallow stony clay or clay loam on upper part of rolling prairie landscape underlain by Cretaceous limestone. Associates include Allium drummondii, Amsonia ciliata, Asclepias asperula, Callirhoe pedata, Castilleja purpurea, Ceanothus herbaceus, Chaerophyllum tainturieri, Cirsium undulatum, Ditaxis sp., Engelmannia pinnatifida, Eriogonum longifolium, Erioneuron pilosum, Euphorbia spathulata, Gaura brachycarpa, Hymenopappus tenuifolius, Lindheimera texana, Linum berlandieri, Pediomelum latestipulatum, Phyllanthus polygonoides, Psoralidium tenuiflorum, Salvia texana, Scutellaria drummondii, Senna roemeriana, Tragia ramosa, Yucca pallida.
