Locality: United States, Texas, Val Verde, Amistad National Recreation Area: Pecos River picnic area and boat launch. Sample plot no. 95. Seminole Canyon Quad (1:24,000).
Habitat and Description: Disturbed, gravelly (limestone) clay soils at base of massive, west-facing limestone roadcut; mixed grasses and herbs including silver bluestem, Johnson grass, rocky goldaster, and silverleaf nightshade. With Bothriochloa barbinodis, Sorghum jalapense, Heterotheca fulcrata, Solanum elaeagnifolium, and Gaura suffulta. Infrequent perennial to 40 cm. Rays orangish red with red bases; discs brown.
