Habitat and Description: Common in deciduous woodland or forest on Duffau fine sandy loam on lower slopes of canyon at contact between Antlers Sand and Goodland / Walnut Limestone, middle canyon on ranch. Associates include Amphicarpaea bracteata, Arisaema dracontium, Berchemia scandens, Bromus pubescens, Carex cherokeensis and other Carex spp., Carya texana, Celtis laevigata, Cercis canadensis var. texensis, Chasmanthium latifolium, Cocculus carolinus, Cornus drummondii, Desmodium glutinosum, D. tweedyi, Dichanthelium sphaerocarpon, Elephantopus carolinianus, Equisetum laevigatum, Fraxinus texensis, Galium circaezans, G. pilosum, Geum canadense, Helianthus hirsutus, Ilex decidua, Morus rubra, Parthenocissus quinquefolia, Passiflora lutea, Phryma leptostachya, Prunus mexicana, Quercus macrocarpa, Q. muhlenbergii, Q. cf. shumardii, Q. stellata, Sanicula canadensis, Scutellaria cardiophylla, Smilax bona-nox, S. hispida, Sophora affinis, Symphoricarpos orbiculatus, Toxicodendron sp., Ulmus americana, Verbesina helianthoides, V. virginica, Vernonia baldwinii, Viburnum rufidulum, Viola cf. sororia, Woodsia obtusa.
