Habitat and Description: Common in deciduous riparian woodland on sandy alluvium on high terrace of entrenched perennial stream. Associates include Acer negundo, Carya illinoinensis, Celtis laevigata, Chasmanthium latifolium, Cornus drummondii, Elymus virginicus, Equisetum laevigatum, Galium aparine, Geum canadense, Smilax bona-nox, S. hispida, Symphoricarpos orbiculatus.
