Habitat and Description: Frequent in forb-dominated herbaceous vegetation on shallow stony clay or clay loam on upper part of rolling prairie landscape underlain by Cretaceous limestone. Associates include Allium drummondii, Artemisia ludoviciana, Asclepias asperula, Astragalus nuttallianus, Cirsium undulatum, Daucus pusillus, Engelmannia pinnatifida, Eriogonum longifolium, Erioneuron pilosum, Erodium texanum, Gaura brachycarpa, Gutierrezia texana, Hordeum pusillum, Hybanthus verticillatus, Lepidium sp., Matelea biflora, Opuntia engelmannii, Phyllanthus polygonoides, Physaria gracilis, Plantago rhodosperma, P. wrightiana, Scutellaria drummondii, Senna roemeriana, Solanum dimidiatum, Vulpia octoflora.
