Habitat and Description: Locally frequent in small area dominated by Schizachyrium scoparium and native species at the edge of an old field otherwise dominated by Sorghum halepense and weeds, on Frio clay loam. Associates include Agalinis strictifolia, Ambrosia confertiflora, Anemone berlandieri, Aphanostephus sp., Aristida purpurea, Aster ericoides, Desmanthus virgatus var. depressus, Digitaria cognata, Engelmannia pinnatifida, Eragrostis intermedia, Evax verna, Florestina tripteris, Gaillardia pulchella, Galium virgatum, Gaura coccinea, Glandularia bipinnatifida, Hedeoma drummondii, Helianthus maximiliani, Hymenopappus scabiosaeus, Mimosa latidens, Panicum hallii.
