Habitat and Description: Occasional among shrubs in thorn shrubland on friable, moderately alkaline, calcareous sandy clay loam (Colibro Series) on slope with occasional exposures of yellow-brown sandstone of Weches Formation. Woody associates include Acacia greggii, A. rigidula, Aloysia gratissima, Baccharis texana, Berberis trifoliolata, Celtis pallida, C. reticulata, Colubrina texensis, Condalia hookeri, Diospyros texana, Eysenhardtia texana, Ferocactus setispinus, Forestiera angustifolia, Guaiacum angustifolium, Jatropha dioica, Lycium berlandieri, Opuntia lindheimeri, O. leptocaulis, Prosopis glandulosa, Ptelea trifoliata, Salvia ballotiflora, Schaefferia cuneifolia, Sideroxylon lanuginosum, Wedelia texana, Yucca constricta, Y. treculeana, Ziziphus obtusifolius.
