Habitat and Description: Common, visual dominant at this season in some portions of long-idle, shrub-invaded old field on Frio clay loam, +/- level terrace on E side of San Antonio River floodplain. Herbaceous associates include Ambrosia trifida, Boerhavia diffusa, Bromus catharticus, B. japonicus, Calyptocarpus vialis, Clematis drummondii, Cocculus carolinus, Commelina erecta, Cynodon dactylon, Gaillardia pulchella, Galium aparine, Gaura coccinea, G. parviflora, G. sinuata, Geranium carolinianum, Glandularia bipinnatifida, Helianthus annuus, Limnodea arkansana, Malvastrum coromandelianum, Merremia dissecta, Nassella leucotricha, Physalis viscosa, Ratibida columnifera, Rhynchosia minima, Ruellia nudiflora var. runyonii, Solanum elaeagnifolium, Sonchus asper, Sorghum halepense, Torilis arvensis, Tragia brevispica, Viguiera dentata.
