Habitat and Description: Common in mesquite-hackberry-colubrina woodland on formerly cultivated high terrace. Woodland includes some elements of Tamaulipan thornscrub (e.g., Prosopis glandulosa, Celtis pallida, Celtis reticulata, Colubrina texensis, Condalia hookeri, Aloysia gratissima, Berberis trifoliolata, Diospyros texana, Schaefferia cuneifolia, Lycium berlandieri, Opuntia spp., Ziziphus obtusifolius, Eysenhardtia texana, Talinum paniculatum, Tridens eragrostoides and Fleischmannia incarnata) along with scores of weedy exotics and generalists.
