Habitat and Description: Rare in mesquite woodland on Frio clay loam on formerly cultivated high terrace. Associates include Berberis trifoliolata, Celtis pallida, C. reticulata, Malvaviscus drummondii, Opuntia leptocaulis, O. lindheimeri, Prosopis glandulosa, Schaefferia cuneifolia, Verbesina virginica. NPS accession no. SAAN-00304, NPS catalog no. 20482.
